Valentine’s Goodies!

I’ve added a lot of goodies to my Ko-Fi page this past week for Valentine’s Day including the above pattern that you can use as a background on your phone, tablet, or computer. You can find all of them in this album. Click on the version you want and then click the red “hi-res” button to download it to your device.

Then there’s the coloring pages. I created three different versions, which can be found in this album with previous coloring pages I have available. Same steps, click the page you want and then click the “hi-res” button to download it to your device. Then you can either print it or color it digitally. I have found that you definitely have to save it to your device because it is way too large if you try to print it from the web page.

There was supposed to be something else releasing this week, but it’s taking me slightly longer than I expected to get it ready, so I will save that for next week.

Holiday Animation Project 2020

After playing around with the animation assistant in Procreate for a few months, I got struck with an idea around Thanksgiving to animate an Advent Calendar to put up in the Reels section on Instagram. Once I decided on that, I also came up with an idea for my friends that celebrate Hanukkah with a candle lighting animation for each night.

At first I had plenty of time and built myself a bit of a “buffer” by creating a week in advance. And then I got complacent and let that buffer dwindle to nothing, so I ended up stressing myself out every day trying to make them before noon.

The Hanukkah candles were definitely easier, because all you have to do to make a convincing flame is just draw the flame shape randomly so its slightly different each time. I did get a little carried away a few times, so some of those flames would definitely be a fire hazard in real life. Plus I only had to keep up with it for eight days.

All in all, I think I did okay. The next animation I attempt will either be shorter in terms of duration, simpler in the details, or just not have such a short deadline. Perhaps all three would be good. And I will start work on holiday things much earlier this year.

Free Printable 2021 Calendar Download

Last night I uploaded a Free Printable 2021 PDF Calendar to my Ko-Fi Shop. Click here to go to the download page

It’s got square spots for each date to write in important events and deadlines, and each month name has a pattern in it to color. See the previews below, and the Instagram Reel I made to announce it. Really want to get more creative with the Instagram content this year. Here’s to 2021 being better than 2020!
