Prompt: Weapon
Media: marker, Dip pen, India ink
Paper: smooth Bristol ATC
When I saw the prompt for this week, I was watching a documentary on Netflix about online bullying. So I immediately thought of using words or a pen. Then I realized it could really go either way, words as a weapon for good or bad.
Since I’m using my brush pen for Inktober, I decided to go with my dip pen for more of a challenge.
Topic: Orange
Medium: Marker
Paper: Smooth Bristol ATC
The “orange” prompt this week lead me to think of a geometric sun pattern, so I decided to grab a handful of my orange markers and create a type of swirling, stripy pattern.

Practice definitely does make better. Remember the charcoal drawings I did? Well, the same day I was getting the charcoal paper and drawing board I picked up a pack of Conté crayons. Slightly more compressed than the charcoal sticks, I think. Not really sure what the difference is other than they are slightly smaller.
Anywho, I had really liked the conté drawings in my art class, and decided to give it a go with a picture off my phone:
Still slightly wonky, but recognizable as a person at least. Cute, right?
