Animal Alphabet

I made this little alphabet and animals poster back in August using the iPad app Procreate. Rather than cramming in an animal for every letter, I decided to just pick a few from each row to keep it balanced and uncluttered. Not gonna lie, I chose only my favorite animals to put in this poster. I think my favorite of the animals I included is the little tree frog hanging from the T.

I used the auto-generated process video to make a new YouTube video for the first time in years, and I also turned it into my first Instagram Reel.

You can find a high resolution download of this poster on my Ko-Fi page for free! From there you can print it out or use it as a background image for a device. I have quite a few of these new digital drawings that I have shared and that I have yet to share, so I am going to post a few a week for the next few weeks until I catch up. If you want to see the ones I’ve already posted, you can find them all very easily on my Ko-Fi page in the Digital Art Album.

Introducing My Ko-Fi

As you may already know, a few months ago, I started a Ko-Fi page for my art and fiber projects. But maybe you have never heard of Ko-Fi and don’t know what it’s about, and I haven’t written about it here, yet.

Ko-Fi is a platform for artists and basically anyone to post their work and accept monetary support. This can be through one-time donations, monthly subscriptions, or even commissions. They have even recently started offering shops where you can buy directly from creators.

On my Ko-Fi, I post artwork, finished objects, and works in progress at least a day before I post to Instagram, but often even without posting to Instagram. I even have digital download knitting patterns and some stickers available right now, with more to come, soon.

I have downloadable coloring pages and downloadable art work, some for free and some as exclusives for supporters. I also have commissions open for some things like digital art, cross stitch patterns, and crocheted key chains.

Check it out to see what I have available, and you can follow me there to get updates when I post something new.

A Double-sided Halloween Pillow

When I joined the Snarky and Modern Facebook Group for the RBG Stitch Along, I found out that there was also an embroidery stitch along happening at the same time. I’ve been wanting to do more embroidery, so I decided to pick this one up as well. Here is the finished result:

As the opposite side of a scrap-stuffed pillow with this piece designed by 8.Bit.Stitch that I stitched last year:

I wasn’t entirely certain what I was going to do when I started, but luckily I made it on a large enough bit of fabric that it fit perfectly with the cross stitched piece I had finished a year earlier. It was a great way to work on some stitches I needed to practice, like French knots.

I think I can finally say I’ve got the hang of the French knot after not being able to do them consistently ever.

I really like the way it turned out on the dark purple, even if it was difficult to see the lines on the water soluble stabilizer. Though some of that difficulty may have stemmed from the fact I didn’t have the printable type and instead had to use some from a roll I had laying around. I don’t think it was meant to be used for pattern transfers.

It worked, though. I printed the pattern on paper, originally intending to trace it directly onto the fabric with a water-removable fabric pen, but I couldn’t see the pattern through the fabric even on my lightbox’s highest setting. The clear stabilizer worked with the pattern traced in a micron pen. No marks were left once I washed it away, so it can work in a pinch if you happen to have it on hand.
